These pictures show a current construction project remodeling and kitchen and renovating the basement to support the floor. The stairs to the basement and second floor were both moved. The floor was strengthened and leveled, and the walls were made plumb prior to continuing with the work. Just click on any of the pictures to see a larger image in a new window.

Basement Work
Here you see the old stairs that were removed, and the studs that were braced and plumbed. The floor was leveled and strengthened, glued and screwed to the joists. The new walls have water-resistent gypsum board at counter level because of possible water splashes.
These show the new basement stairs and 6x6 support posts replacing steel floor jacks.
